The Cape Exteriors are all from Provincetown. The quiet scene, Peace, with empty chairs and a sagging umbrella, belie the times when the deck is full of activity. We are reminded of the environment we treasure by Fogbound and Tiny Red Sunset. The Cape Interiors are mostly small paintings, 9x12, plus three larger paintings, 16x20. Although of particular places, they could be interiors anywhere, each chosen for its colors, the lighting in the scene, or some object in the composition that spoke to me, such as the little green dresser in the painting of the same name. The Newton Yards exteriors feature fall scenes, with two spring and summer pictures. Leaves almost didn’t make it, so tedious was the task of painting the carpet of leaves on a driveway. I'm glad I finished the painting because I ended up liking it. The 8x10 Tool Portraits really are portraits, showing the wear of heavy use during the tools' lifetimes.
